Incident summary
Jacksonville Today reported that on November 20, 2025, Tracy Moore was near her home on Marquis Drive while putting her daughter on a school bus when two dogs approached. Her then 4-year-old son Roland came toward her, drawing the dogs’ attention. Witness and family accounts described one dog biting Roland around the left temple and ear as Tracy covered him with her body; Tracy was also bitten. PEOPLE, citing a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office incident report, separately reported that two dogs attacked Tracy and Roland and that the responding officer could not identify their owner. Roland’s ear was badly damaged; after about a week in the hospital, doctors ultimately removed it. Jacksonville Today later reported from Animal Care and Protective Services records that the two dogs were transported to the shelter and euthanized. The reviewed reporting did not establish breed or legal ownership.
PEOPLE reported that the responding Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officer was unable to determine the owner of the two dogs. Jacksonville Today later reported from ACPS records that the dogs were transported to the shelter and euthanized. The reviewed sources did not establish an owner citation, criminal charge, dangerous-dog adjudication or civil judgment, so BiteDB does not infer legal responsibility.
